Athachamayam :- This is a spectacular procession marking the onset of Onam festival and is taken out from Thripunithura and Piravam. It provides a fine opportunity to view the folk and temple arts of Kerala. The well caparisoned elephants and variety of floats add colour to the festivities.

Cochin Carnival :- This glittering festival is held during the last week of the year at Fort Kochi. The Carnival remembers the colonial times, When New year was celebrated with pomp and gaiety. Today, the festival symbolizes fun and merry making. The city is beautifully illuminated and various competitions and unique games are organized. On the New year day a massive procession is take out accompanied by caparisoned elephants, “Panchavadyam” spectacular floats music bands and enthralling folk performances.

Indira Gandhi Boat race :-  The boat race coincides with the tourist festival held during the last week of the year .Thousands of visitors assemble to watch the exciting snake boat race.

Siva Temple, Ernakulam :-The eight day annual festival is another popular event of the city. The Seeveli Procession with 9 tuskers and the panchavadyam is held twice a day within the temple on all the eight days. On the seventh evening, Pakalpooram is conducted. Folk and classical performances like Kathakali, Ottamthullal etc are perfrmed by renowned artists. The festival concludes with the Aarattu.

Sree Rajeswari Temple, Chottanikara :- The annual nine day temple festival is marked by Aarattu,which is performed everyday unlike other temples. Large number of pilgrims visit the shrine during Makam Thozhal, the 7th day of festivities is considered very auspicious, especially for women devotees. Five caparisoned elephants line up for Pooram, on the eighth day and a spectacular display of the five works marks the conclusion of the festival. Navarathri festival is also celebrated at the temple and musical concerts are held during this time.

Bhagawathy Temple,Puthiyakavu :-  The temple is about 11 kms from Ernakulam and it attracts the devotees in the seven day festival. The third and fourth days are very auspicious for unmarried women and they come to offer thalams. On the last night thookam is performed followed by fire works.

Bharani Festival :- The festival is celebrated at Sree Kurumba  Bhagavathy Temple, Kodungalloor, 50km from Cochin City. It attracts the largest congregation of Velichappadu from all over the State. Cultural programmes and devotional rites are held during this time
